In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Italia earlier on today, Italian football journalist Alfredo Pedulla has shared his belief that Inter are back to being the team seen at the start of this season.

“Inter are not a diesel engine, but a turbo engine. The team seen in these first games seems to be same one seen at the beginning of the season,” he explained in the interview.

Pedulla proceeded to share an idea of his regarding why Inter manager Antonio Conte did not insert Christian Eriksen sooner and more often upon his arrival at the club in the most recent January transfer window from Tottenham Hotspur.

“I believe that the fact that he waited for Vidal and the Dane arrived instead, Conte got touchy and slowed down his insertion as a result.”

The transfer market expert also commented on Lautaro Martinez’s future as he continues to find himself linked with a potential move to Spanish giants Barcelona in the coming months.

Barcelona have been courting the Argentine national team forward for a considerable amount of time but have never come close to satisfying Inter’s demands for the highly rated 22-year-old, who has a €111 million release clause in his current contract with the club.

“Barcelona made an effort but then drew back. With the new rules of La Liga, the sales of Coutinho and Rakitic would be needed at figures higher than their real value.”
