Inter’s Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello has admitted to being confident about Inter and AC Milan’s shared new stadium project heading in the right direction.

Significant progress was made yesterday as the two clubs came to an agreement with the Milan city council over the total volume of the project, something which had been holding things up beforehand.

Whilst there is still some work needed to be done before the final go ahead can be given and the two clubs still need to decide between the two projects on the table from Populous and Manica/CMR Sportium, things appear to be heading in the right direction.

“This is a signal that the two clubs love Milan and that the two foreign investors firmly believe in the revitalisation of the city in such a difficult moment. We are confident, we are going in the right direction,” Antonello remarked in an interview which appeared in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

A recent report from the same source suggested that the stadium will be completed in 2024 and the entire project, including the commercial district, will be completed in its entirety in 2028.
