Fiorentina central midfielder Gaetano Castrovilli has admitted that whilst the reported interested in his services makes him happy, he remains very much attached to La Viola.

Ahead of the upcoming transfer window the Italian national team player, who has been one of the biggest revelations in Serie A this term, has been linked with the likes of Inter and Juventus among other clubs.

“The admiration is pleasing but I’m very attached to Florence. I’m fine here and I have everyone’s trust,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

He was then asked about teammate Federico Chiesa and his future with the Florence based club amid ongoing speculation in the media.

“If me and Chiesa will continue together? These are decisions that affect the club and Federico. All I can say is that Chiesa is a great footballer and it would be nice to continue our growth together.”

Castrovilli also shared his thoughts on the Serie A title race.

“I believe there’s a lot left to play for. There are still 11 games to go and there several direct meetings on the agenda.

“In my opinion, nothing has been decided. Over the years, Lazio have strengthened a squad that was already very competitive and this season they are reaping the benefits of their work.

“I’m sure they will fight until the end with Juventus and Inter.”

This season the 23-year-old has made 27 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, which totals just shy of 2300 minutes, he has scored three goals and has also provided two assists for his teammates.
