Inter could return in the fight to sign Hellas Verona starlet Marash Kumbulla, after Lazio’s deal proved insufficient for the Gialloblu, according to a report from Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter earlier today.
The report details how the Biancocelesti submitted an €18 million offer for the 20-year-old Albanian defender, including two players in exchange, but the offer was declined by the Veneto based club, who still want €30 million for their starlet.
Inter have been interested in Kumbulla for some time now, the report continues, and may look to reinsert themselves into negotiations for the 20-year-old. The Albanian centre back has impressed in his debut season in Serie A, attracting the attention of top clubs around Europe.
Kumbulla has made 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1761 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.
Schira detailed the situation, saying: “Lazio’s offer for Marash Kumbulla (€18M + 2 players) is considered low by Verona, who have decided to decline it. Setti is still holding firm on the €30M rating for the centre back. The games reopen for the other Italian clubs and foreign suitors.”
