Inter Lineup Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang As A Replacement For Barcelona Linked Lautaro Martinez

Inter are considering signing Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to replace Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, should the player be sold to Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri would prefer to keep the 22-year-old Argentine forward, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, and will begin talks to renew his contract after July 7th, when his €111 million release clause expires. The negotiations will start at the end of the season and Inter will offer Lautaro a salary of €5 million net that will rise to €6 million as his contract ages.

Should Lautaro still be sold to Barcelona this summer, the report continues, then the Nerazzurri are considering signing the 31-year-old Aubameyang as a replacement. The Arsenal striker’s contract expires with the Gunners next summer and so he would only cost around €25-30 million. Other options include Torino forward Andrea Belotti and Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, although both players would be hard to secure.
