Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer discussed the future of Inter forward Alexis Sanchez in an interview with English media outlet Manchester Evening News earlier today.

“Alexis has had some injury problems again. Inter are thinking about their future and we are thinking about ours. We will make a decision after the end of this season and I think it is important that Inter focus on finishing the season where they are and that we can continue what we do.”

Inter have been in talks with the Red Devils to discuss a two-month contract extension for Sanchez, whose current dry loan deal would expire in two days’ time.

Coach Antonio Conte is a big fan of the former Arsenal forward and is even considering making a deal to keep him for another season as well, with the player looking to compete with Lautaro Martinez for a starting spot.

Sanchez has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 684 minutes. In that time, he has scored one goal and provided four assists, struggling to make a strong impact for the Nerazzurri. The player suffered a peroneus tendon injury whilst on international duty, which forced him to miss 14 games.
