Ivan Perisic may return to Inter from Bayern Munich at the end of the season, according to a report from German media outlet Sport Bild.

The report details how the 31-year-old Croatian forward has spent this season on loan at the German champions, being a consistent part of coach Hansi Flick’s squad.

The option to sign him permanently wasn’t activated in May by the Bavarian club, and they asked Inter for more time to think about a possible deal. Currently, there is no agreement between the two clubs regarding a price for Perisic and optimism isn’t high.

Perisic’s salary is also a cause for concern, the report continues. The 2018 FIFA World Cup runner up receives around €10-11 million gross a season, a figure far too high for the Bavarian club considering the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and its effects on the financial climate.

The Croatian will be available to Bayern in the Champions League and so could still impress enough to facilitate a deal.
