Inter legend Beppe Bergomi discussed the Nerazzurri’s important 2-1 win over Parma in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia after the game.

“The Inter defenders resolved the match and suffered a lot because the three Parma forwards played well. Cornelius for physicality, Gervinho for speed and goal, Kulusevski played very well.”

Bergomi highlighted the issues that the Nerazzurri had against the Emilian club last night.

“Godin had little to do with the goal, de Vrij was out of position and the Inter defence had a difficult time in the game because they lacked speed on an open pitch. In many situations, however, they stop goals in a lined-up defence.”

The Italian discussed how the extra substitutions allows the coaches to make more unique tactical decisions.

“Usually you don’t think about changing a defender. With five substitutions you can think about putting Bastoni in. You have to be more skilful with subs to improve your team, Atalanta, for example, has optimal substitutions.”

Finally, Bergomi spoke about Real Madrid right back Achraf Hakimi, who is set to sign for the Nerazzurri over the next couple of days.

“Inter crosses a lot, with Candreva and Biraghi. Hakimi is another type of player, who penetrates, changes pace and seeks to exchange with the striker.”

Inter are set to sign the 21-year-old Hakimi this week, paying Los Blancos €40 million plus €5 million in add-ons for the Moroccan right back.

The Nerazzurri have also offered the Real Madrid youth product a five-year contract worth €5 million net per season, plus add-ons. Hakimi has made 45 appearances across all competitions this season for Borussia Dortmund, for a total of 3571 minutes. In that time, he has scored nine goals and provided 10 assists.
