Sports Judge Gerardo Mastrandrea has today ruled that Tommaso Berni will serve a single match suspension after being sent off against Parma on Sunday night.

The veteran goalkeeper was sent off during the match at the Stadio Ennio Tardini for comments made regarding a decision made by referee Fabio Maresca, comments that were picked up by the fourth official and passed on to Marseca.

This is the second time this season that Berni has found himself sent off and quite astonishingly he has managed to be sent off more times than he has made appearances for the team. He will therefore be unavailable for selection for Wednesday’s match against Brescia.

In his report, which detailed the events of this past round of Serie A action, Mastrandrea also confirmed that Inter duo Diego Godin and Roberto Gagliardini are now just one booking each away from having to serve an automatic one match ban for accumulation of yellow cards.
