Inter loanee Alexis Sanchez is set to return to parent club Manchester United next week according to a report from the online edition of British newspaper The Sun.

Inter want the Chilean national team player’s loan deal to be extended to allow him to play in the remaining 10 Serie A matches but the two clubs have failed to come to an agreement over a loan extension.

One of the main reasons behind the failure to reach an agreement is due to the fact that Manchester United do not want Sanchez to be able to play for Inter in the Europa League, where they could potentially meet Inter and be punished by Sanchez.

The report from The Sun goes on to explain that Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to offload Sanchez and his bumper salary of off the club’s wage bill.

Whilst on loan at Inter, the former Barcelona player has scored one goal and tallied four assists in 19 appearances across all competitions to date.
