With Inter set to wrap up the signing of Achraf Hakimi today, Inter manager Antonio Conte now wants a top left back added to his squad according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have agreed a €45 million including add-ons deal with Real Madrid for Hakimi and the report claims that Conte expects another top player to be brought in for the opposite side.

Chelsea and Italian national team full back Emerson Palmieri is Conte’s current favourite whilst Emerson’s Chelsea teammate Marcos Alonso and Barcelona’s Junior Firpo are both seen as alternatives to him.

Inter have been linked with a potential move for Emerson for some time and reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that arch rivals Juventus are also keen on adding him to their ranks.

This season Emerson has made 19 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has provided a single assist.
