Inter could reignite their interest in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri club had shown a keen interest in signing the French national team player in the most recent January transfer window but failed to reach a deal with Chelsea.

In the days following the end of the January transfer window, the Premier League club exercised an option they had to extend Giroud’s contract until the end of next season.

The report claims that Chelsea did not do this due to having plans to keep him but rather to avoid losing him for nothing in the coming months.

It goes on to explain that the former Arsenal man is among Inter manager Antonio Conte’s first choices when it comes to targets for the attack.

This season Giroud has scored four goals in 15 appearances across all competitions to date.
