Former Inter midfielder Sabri Lamouchi has shared his belief that Christian Eriksen will be able to show the best version of himself at Inter.

Eriksen joined Inter in a circa €20 million deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the most recent January transfer window and initially failed to make an impact.

Since the football season resumed, Eriksen’s performances have improved with him having been able to play in his natural role of attacking midfielder with thanks to Inter manager Antonio Conte changing from a 3-5-2 to 3-4-1-2 system.

“His quality is not up for discussion, he is an important player. I remember in 1996 when Zidane joined Juventus and had many difficulties, after 6 months he showed all his value,” Lamouchi explained in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Musica Television show ‘Taca La Marca’ earlier on today.

“I am convinced that Conte will find the right solution and that Eriksen will be able to express himself in the best way. The Dane still needs to adapt, given the significant differences between Serie A and Premier League.”

The former France national team player, who spent two years with Inter between 2003 and 2005, then spoke on the imminent arrival of Achraf Hakimi at Inter from Real Madrid.

Inter and Real Madrid have agreed a €45 million including add-ons deal for the Moroccan, who underwent and passed his medical with the club yesterday and he also signed his contract. All that remains is for the transfer to be officially announced.

“Hakimi is a great signing. He is the ideal player for Conte’s system.”

He then spoke on Sandro Tonali, who has been heavily linked with a move to Inter.

“Tonali is very promising, he has a bright future, if Inter are looking at him, this means that there is a long-term project.”
