David Alaba wants a big salary increase in order to extend his contract with Bayern Munich according to a report from the online edition of German news outlet BILD.

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and sports director Hasan Salihamidzic recently met with Alaba’s father and main agent George Alaba as well as his advisor Pini Zahavi but were unable to come to an agreement.

Bayern Munich have offered Alaba a new contract which would see him earn €15 million a year but it is understood that the player wants more than that to extend his stay with the recently crowned German champions and Bayern Munich are unwilling to give him more.

The report adds that there is interest from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Inter and Chelsea in Austrian national team defender, who would prefer a move to Spain.

Despite the interest from elsewhere, it is said that Bayern Munich are not worried and that Alaba’s father is in fact optimistic about the next round of contract talks.

This season Alaba has made 37 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided two assists.
