Zinedine Zidane’s treatment of him was one of the key factors in Achraf Hakimi deciding to leave Real Madrid for Inter according to a report from Spanish television programme El Chiringuito, which was aired earlier on today.

As per the report, the Real Madrid manager never spoke to Hakimi once in the past two years whilst he has been out on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

In addition to this, Zidane never showed any interest in bringing Hakimi back to the club and integrating him into the first team picture.

Hakimi underwent and passed his medical with Inter yesterday and he also put pen to paper on a five year contract which he will earn €5 million a year from.

Official confirmation of the deal, which will cost Inter €45 million, including add-ons, is yet to arrive although it is edging ever closer to being finalised.

This past season Hakimi made 45 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he scored nine goals and provided 10 assists for his teammates.
