Lack of an agreement over a first professional contract was a factor in Sebastiano Esposito remaining on the bench in Inter’s recent 6-0 win over Brescia according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
At 4-0 up, Inter substituted Lautaro Martinez but rather than put the teen sensation on in his place Inter manager Antonio Conte opted for top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku instead.
Until recently, it seemed obvious that Esposito would sign a first professional contract with the club but it now no longer seems so obvious.
Inter have offered him a long term contract with an annual salary of €450,000 a year but his family do not believe that that is enough and the report explains that the player and his family want double than that.
Despite the big gap between supply and demand, Inter still have the desire to sign Esposito to a new deal and then loan him out to another club next season.
