Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge discussed the Bavarian club’s transfer situation, the possible signing of Inter forward Ivan Perisic and the futures of Thiago Alcantara and David Alaba in an interview with German broadcaster Sport1 earlier today.

First, he discussed the future of the 31-year-old Croatian forward, who has spent this season on loan with Bayern from the Nerazzurri.

“We haven’t decided anything yet, but I would like to stress that Bayern Munich are also facing important economic challenges.”

Perisic has impressed this season with the Bavarian club, being regularly deploying by coach Hansi Flick and noted for his tactical flexibility. The 2018 World Cup runner up has made 30 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1515 minutes. In that time, he has scored six goals and provided nine assists.

Rummenigge also spoke about the futures of Inter linked Thiago Alcantara and David Alaba, who both have contracts expiring next season.

“Both are high level guys, on and off the pitch. Now we have to try to find a financially acceptable solution for us. It is known that both players’ contracts will expire next year.”

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen the squad this summer and one role that is important is the wing back role, which is why Alaba has attracted the interest of Inter.
