A report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport has confirmed the reports that Inter are targeting Chelsea wing-back Emerson Palmieri and that his agent is in Milan for talks with the Nerazzurri.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their left wing back position this summer, after signing Achraf Hakimi from Real Madrid to strengthen the right wing back role. The 25-year-old Italian Brazilian has fallen out of favour with coach Frank Lampard at the Blues and hasn’t made a Premier League appearance since January.

Emerson is a real target of Inter, the report continues, and his agent is currently in Milan. The Nerazzurri approached the player’s entourage a few days ago and are confident that a deal can be reached.

The player has never hidden the fact that he would like to return to Italy and has great esteem for Inter coach Antonio Conte. Emerson has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, providing one assist in that time.
