Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce has admitted to being happy with the recent performances of on loan Valentino Lazaro and other loan players.

The Austrian national team defender joined the Premier League outfit on a six month loan with option to buy from Inter in the most recent January transfer window and that loan has since been extended until the end of the current season.

“I was happy for Bentaleb, Lazaro and Emil Krafth, who had to be patient to play. They came here to test themselves in the Premier League and their performances the other night were great to see,” Bruce remarked as part of his press conference ahead of Newcastle United’s upcoming fixture with West Ham United this weekend.

Lazaro came through the ranks at RB Salzburg in his native Austria and moved to Hertha Berlin in 2018, after a stellar season Inter picked him this past Summer in a circa €20 million deal.

The 24-year-old failed to nail down a place in the Inter team in the first half of the season which led to him being loaned to Newcastle United, who he has made nine appearances for, in which he has scored twice.
