Romania coach Mirel Radoi discussed the situation surrounding Inter owned goalkeeper Andrei Ionut Radu in an interview with Romanian newspaper Gazeta Sportulor yesterday afternoon.

“Although he has extended his contract with Parma until the end of the season, from what I know he will return to Inter. In this sense also Cosmin Olaroiu, the coach of Jiangsu Suning, helped me by giving me this information. The people who are at Inter want him there, let’s see if he will stay or will be sent away on loan.”

Radu has spent this season on loan at both Genoa and Parma, switching to the Emilia based club in the January transfer window.

Inter are looking for a new goalkeeper as captain Samir Handanovic is set to be phased out of the squad after next season, with Radu being one of the many options available to the Nerazzurri. Another potential option is Udinese number one Juan Musso.

Radu is a product of Inter’s youth system but has only ever made one first team appearance for the club. The 23-year-old Romanian shot stopper has made 19 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1740 minutes. In that time, he has conceded 37 goals and kept two clean sheets, struggling to perform in a sluggish Genoa squad.
