Italian journalist Paolo Condò discussed Barcelona’s interest in Inter striker Lautaro Martinez in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia yesterday afternoon, after the Nerazzurri’s loss against Bologna.

“Barcelona will never put that kind of money on the table. It’s always a big if because there’s a big mess in Barcelona. The Arthur-Pjanic exchange has uncovered a very difficult budgetary reality.

“I know that the first choice is always Neymar, Messi’s first choice too. The idea that they can also take Lautaro seems rather strange to me.”

Condò revealed that Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen to return to the Blaugrana immediately, should the current president be dismissed.

“In Barcelona there is a conspiracy that directly concerns the presidency. I’ve been told that behind all this there could also be Guardiola’s desire to return immediately, but he couldn’t do it with this leadership.”

Finally, the Italian journalist highlighted how Lautaro should focus on his time with the Nerazzurri, rather than believing that his dream move might be round around the corner.

“I believe that Lautaro for the moment, as long as there is this situation, is not the first but not even the third choice in their thoughts. It would be important for Lautaro to realize this, he is still young.”

The Blaugrana have been linked with the 22-year-old Lautaro for some time now, and have been in talks with the Nerazzurri regarding the Argentine striker. Lautaro, who is contracted to Inter until 2023, has made 37 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2861 minutes.

In that time, he has scored 17 goals and provided five assists, disappointing since the restart of the season, scoring only once in five games.
