Inter will have to do without Nicolo Barella for at least their next three matches according to a report from the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Barella missed Inter’s 2-1 defeat at home to Bologna yesterday due to injury which Inter have today confirmed was a thigh injury.

As per the Milan based news outlet, the former Cagliari midfielder will miss Inter’s match with Hellas Verona, Torino and SPAL.

The highly rated 23-year-old is hopeful of being able to return for the next match after SPAL which comes against Roma on July 19.

Barella joined Inter in a loan with obligation to buy move from Cagliari this past Summer worth €50 million in total and has been a pivotal player for Inter this term.

This season the Italian national team player has made 33 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and tallied six assists.
