Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that the club will talk about Inter striker Lautaro Martinez at the end of the season.

The Blaugrana club have been heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old Inter and Argentina national team striker and appear set to put their pursuit of him on hold for the time being.

They have been courting him for a considerable amount of time but have never come close to meeting Inter’s demands for him with the offers that they have reportedly made.

Lautaro’s €111 million release clause is due to expire today and it remains to be seen what will happen after that as Inter could easily demand in excess of that amount.

“We will talk about him at the end of the season, for now we think about the league. The same goes for Neymar, but it is unlikely that his arrival will occur, given the economic situation of the clubs in Europe,” he explained in an interview with Catalan radio station RAC 1 earlier on today.

Bartomeu also confirmed that Lionel Messi, who has drawn links to Inter in recent months, will remain with the club.

“He will stay here, he has a contract until 2021 but we have an obligation to renew it. He has said he wants to end his career here.”
