Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has taken to social media platform Twitter to comment on Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu’s comments regarding Inter striker Lautaro Martinez.

Barcelona have been courting the highly rated 22-year-old striker for some amount of time now but have been reluctant to pay his €111 million release clause, which is set to expire in a matter of hours.

The Blaugrana club have reportedly wanted to do a player plus cash deal for the former Racing Club player instead but the offers they have reportedly made have fell short of Inter’s demands for Lautaro, who still has three years left to run on his contract with Inter.

Biasin has pointed out that once the release clause expires Inter will be able to demand more if they like for the Argentine national team player, who has scored 17 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions to date this season.

Biasin posted: “Bartomeu: “Today the Lautaro clause expires? Barça has no deadline for purchases”. OK perfect. The clauses, however, are an opportunity for those who buy, Lautaro Martinez costs 111 million today but, from tomorrow he must cost 112.”
