Inter will exercise their option to buy Stefano Sensi but there is no guarantee that he will stay after that according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The Italian national team midfielder joined Inter on a season long loan this past Summer with a €25 million option to buy attached.

Sensi starred in his first few weeks at Inter before picking up an injury in the first Derby D’Italia of the season. Since then, the 24-year-old has struggled to remain fit and has picked up injury after injury.

Despite his injury proneness, Sensi will be signed outright but could well be moved on soon after. Barcelona had previously shown an interest in signing him but it is unclear if the Spanish giants remain interested in signing him.

This season he has made 18 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided four assists.
