Inter wing-back Ashley Young has insisted that the team want to get back to winning ways and pick up three points in tonight’s clash with Hellas Verona which is due to kick off just shortly.

“We are ready for tonight, we want to get back to winning and get the three points,” he remarked in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi a short time ago.

He was then asked what he is expecting from Hellas Verona, who have been one of the biggest revelations of the 2019/20 Serie A season with them surprisingly challenging for European qualification despite only just being promoted.

“I know the boys, we will do our best. We will have to be very careful and stay focused.”

Young, who has turned 35-years-old today, was then asked whether there is anything he wants specifically for his birthday: “Yes, I only ask for three points.”

Moments later he spoke with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia and added: “We must certainly look forward, thinking game to game and getting as high as possible in the table. Today is my birthday, I just want the three points.”

Young arrived at Inter on an initial six month contract from Manchester United back in the January transfer window and having impressed, Inter recently exercised their option to extend his contract until the end of next season.

The Englishman is set to make his 14th appearances for the club with him in the starting line-up tonight. In his first 13 appearances, he has scored two goals and provided as many assists.
