In yesterday’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have highlighted the number of points that Inter have squandered in matches where they took the lead this season.

The Nerazzurri club have dropped points in eight matches which they have scored the first goal in and have dropped a total of 18 points, five more than league leaders Juventus and double as much as second place Lazio.

Six of the eight games where Inter have dropped points having scored first in the match have come this year and two of them have come in Inter’s past four matches against Sassuolo and more recently Bologna.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to explain that it will be necessary for Inter to strengthen the squad in terms of experience and to grow the winning mentality, both of which could help limit the amount of times Inter drop points.
