Inter legend and former club captain Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi believes Inter’s recent inability to see games out is a psychological problem.

Inter blew a 1-0 lead in this past weekend’s match at home to Bologna and lost 2-1 and also failed to see out last night’s match against Hellas Verona where they were leading 2-1 and in complete control.

The past two matches are just two of many in which Inter have been unable to kill games off this term, something which has proved costly to Inter, who have lost some 20 points from winning positions.

Inter now find themselves in fourth place in the Serie A standings but had they won both of these past two matches they would have been five points better off and sitting in second place on 70 points.

“You have to understand why there are certain types of performances within the same match. It had happened against Bologna and it happened again against Verona. At this moment Inter are relying so much on Lukaku, who is an extra weapon. I think it’s a psychological problem,” Bergomi, who spent his entire playing career with Inter remarked whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.
