Inter are set to hand wing-back Antonio Candreva a new contract according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Candreva’s current contract with Inter is set to expire at the end of next season but Inter are prepared to offer him a on year contract extension to 2022.

The Italian joined the club in 2016 from fellow Serie A side Lazio and has been transformed from a winger into a wing-back this season under the tutelage of Inter manager Antonio Conte.

Candreva found himself largely out of favour last season under Luciano Spalletti but has found himself become an almost certain starter this term under Conte, who has shown a lot of faith in him.

This season Candreva has made 33 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park, which totals just over 2200 minutes, he has scored six goals and provided nine assists for his teammates.
