Inter are interested in signing French midfielder N’Golo Kante and are on high alert after Chelsea indicate that he is no longer not for sale, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer, with coach Antonio Conte unhappy at the low amount of depth and tactical options available to him. Both Conte and the club’s management have been discussing options for months, with Kante being one of the top names.

The 29-year-old Frenchman, who is contracted to Chelsea until 2023, is no longer considered unsellable by coach Frank Lampard, the report continues.

The reasons are because of his injury problems and because Lampard has changed his tactical system in a way that doesn’t accommodate Kante well. The Frenchman and Conte had a close relationship at Chelsea and the duo worked well together.
