Inter’s management have agreed to sign two players over the age of 30 for coach Antonio Conte, namely Barcelona’s Arturo Vidal and Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the former Juventus and Chelsea boss has reiterated his need for veterans and squad depth to the club’s management for many months now, but the Nerazzurri don’t want to invest too heavily into players aged over 30 years old, with little resale value.

In order to satisfy Conte’s demands, the Milanese club have agreed to try and sign Vidal and Giroud. Giroud is the priority, the report continues, as Conte still needs a strong backup for Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Milanese club were close to signing the 33-year-old Frenchman in the January transfer window, before they focused their efforts on the Christian Eriksen deal. Giroud has featured consistently for the Blues in 2020, scoring five goals this calendar year.
