Inter have handed Marcelo Brozovic a fine of €100,000 after he was caught drunk driving by Police in the past few days according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Croatian midfielder ran a red light when he was driving home at 2 am local time having been out for dinner and was stopped by Police and upon being tested his alcohol levels were above the legal amount. He has had his driving licence revoked as a result.

Inter have not taken kindly to this at all and have fined him the above amount. In addition to alerting Brozovic of the fine, the club also chose to communicate the decision with the rest of the squad, as if to send out a warning to them that such conduct will not be tolerated.

Brozovic has made 35 appearances across all competitions to date this term, in which he has scored three goals and provided five assists for his teammates.
