Inter manager Antonio Conte had admitted that picking up three points in tomorrow night’s Serie A clash away to SPAL will be very important.

“We have to come into this match with the same enthusiasm and desire that we have been showing, do our best and try to get the three points that would be very important,” he began an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, which was aired a short time ago.

Conte was then alerted to the fact that the last time Inter had this many points at this stage of the season was back in 2008/09 and that Inter have had 18 different goalscorers this term and just four defeats, the same amount as current league leaders Juventus.

“These are numbers that testify to the excellent things that this team is doing. They must be a stimulus to continue like this and do even better.”

He was then asked what are the biggest potential pitfalls in a match like tomorrow’s where his second placed side will be taking on the team sitting rock bottom.

“Not facing the match with the right determination and attention from the first whistle is a pitfall. We are facing a team who are low in the standings but let’s not forget that they will want to do well because they are facing Inter. We have to pay close attention and our attitude will count for a lot.”

Next he was asked how difficult it has been to prepare for matches with them coming as quickly as they have been.

“I have to thank all my staff for the important job they do. They prepare the videos of the opponents and beyond. We need great collaboration and quality staff which, luckily, is what I have.”

He was then asked to provide an update on the status of Stefano Sensi, Nicolo Barella, Romelu Lukaku, Matias Vecino and Victor Moses.

“Moses is available, Barella has started training with the ball again and we hope to have him back against Roma. Sensi is continuing to recover and we hope to Lukaku back as soon as possible. Vecino always has this knee problem and I cannot give certain information.”

In conclusion he spoke on SPAL manager Luigi Di Biagio: “We are talking about a very serious, prepared guy who knows what he wants. He has taken on a the job he is in in a rather delicate situation but these are experiences that I have also had and it is right to do them.”
