Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has shared his delight following his induction into Inter’s Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2020.

The former central defender spent his entire playing career on the books of the Nerazzurri between 1979 and 1999 and has made the second most appearances of all time for the club.

During his 20 year spell with the team, Bergomi, who spent a long time as club captain, made no less than 756 appearances for the club, an appearance tally bettered only by Javier Zanetti, who he has joined in the defender category in the Hall of Fame, which Giacinto Fachetti is also part of.

Bergomi still holds the record for being Inter’s youngest ever debutant as he debuted aged just 16-years-old and 39 days in a goalless draw with arch rivals Juventus.

During his time with the club, Bergomi, who is now a football pundit, won six trophies, including three UEFA Cups in the 1990s.

In an interview with Inter’s official club website he said: “I’d like to thank Nerazzurri all over the world for voting for me. To still be in the fans’ hearts after so many years makes me truly proud. I love you all, Forza Inter forever,” were Bergomi’s words.”
