Inter have taken the first steps toward keeping Alexis Sanchez with the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Nerazzurri made an offer to extend his loan to Manchester United but it is unlikely that the Premier League club will accept this as they want to raise funds to spend in the transfer window therefore a permanent transfer is more probable.
Manchester United want in the region of €20 million for the Chilean national team attacker. To reach this amount, Inter will need to make a real effort and will need to move quickly in order to avoid being beaten to him by another club, the report continues.
The report goes on to state that Sanchez’s wages also represent an obstacle for Inter who could choose to spread his salary over a longer contract.
Whilst on loan at the club, Sanchez has made 23 appearances, in which he has scored two goals and provided eight assists.
