Inter have decided that Ionut Andrei Radu will be the back-up goalkeeper to number one Samir Handanovic next season according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Inter had shown a keen interest in signing Juan Musso from Udinese to be Handanovic’s deputy but Udinese’s €25 million asking price put them off and led to them deciding on choosing Romanian youngster Radu.

Radu is currently out on loan at fellow Serie A side Parma and his inclusion in the squad will be particularly useful when it comes to meeting registration rules seeing as he is a product of Inter’s academy and therefore classes as homegrown.

The 23-year-old has not played for Parma since joining in the January transfer window but did play regularly in the first half of the season when out on loan at Genoa.

The report goes on to explain that Daniele Padelli, who is Handanovic’s current deputy, will become the third choice goalkeeper at the Nerazzurri from next season.
