Inter have set their sights on landing Junior Firpo as part of a deal that will send Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Barcelona have been courting Lautaro for a considerable amount of time but were unwilling to meet his €111 million release clause – that has now expired – presented an offer consisting of €70 million plus Junior Firpo back in June.

Firpo is being valued at €41 million as part of that offer and Inter have accepted that valuation as they need a player like him for left wing-back as Ashley Young is already 35-years-old and Kwadwo Asamoah barely plays.

The report goes on to explain that Inter are prepared to offer Firpo around double what he currently earns at Barcelona and are able to do this with thanks to the Italian tax laws regarding foreign workers. Moreover, the report implies that Firpo will get a lot more game time at Inter too.

This season Firpo has made 21 appearances across all competitions to date in which he has scored one goal and provided two assists.
