Premier League outfit Newcastle United will not exercise their option to sign Inter owned Austrian international wing-back Valentino Lazaro on a permanent basis, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia reported on air earlier tonight.

According to the report, Newcastle have changed their minds with regards to the former Hertha Berlin player as they are on the brink of an ownership change.

Recent reports suggested that Newcastle were interested in paying the additional €20 million to sign the player permanently, but given the imminent ownership change at the club, this is no longer the case.

Inter are not worried by this news, the report continues, as the player has many suitors all over Europe and so the Nerazzurri are confident they can cash in on Lazaro this summer.

Valentino Lazaro joined Newcastle on loan this past January after failing to feature regularly for Inter and has since then featured 9 times across all competitions for the Magpies scoring twice.
