Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has shared his hopes to know about teammate and striker partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future before the media find out.

Aubameyang’s contract with Arsenal is set to expire at the end of next season and there has been no shortage of speculation regarding his future and whether he will stay or leave Arsenal, something which could happen as soon as in the coming months.

The Gabon national team player is the Gunners captain and has drawn links to a whole array of clubs in recent weeks and months with him having been linked with both Inter and Barcelona among several other clubs.

“Aubameyang is already an Arsenal legend, thanks to the number of goals he has scored in so few games but to be honest, we’ve stopped talking about his future, because at the beginning it can be fun,” Lacazette explained in an interview with broadcaster beIN Sport earlier on today.

“But long term you can start to be annoying because you want something that is not maybe the way we’d like and I don’t want to be the guy being a bit annoying. So we don’t really talk about his future. I will wait for his decision like everyone else, I just hope to have certain news before the press knows.”

This season Aubameyang has made 40 appearances across all competitions to date. During his time on the park, which totals almost 3400 minutes, the former Borussia Dortmund player has scored 23 goals and provided a total of two assists for his teammates.
