Inter have already been talking with Junior Firpo’s agents for days now, in a bid to speed negotiations with Barcelona along according to a report from Spanish broadcaster ESPN Deportes.
Barcelona have wanted Inter striker Lautaro Martinez for a long time and wish to do a player plus cash deal for the highly rated 22-year-old and are willing to offer Firpo to the Nerazzurri if it helps them get a deal done for Lautaro Martinez.
Whilst Inter have been speaking with Firpo over a move and his inclusion puts a deal a step forward to completion, the report warns that Barcelona still need to give Inter €70 million on top of him.
The report goes on to add that Barcelona are confident about raising the appropriate funds via the sale of Philippe Coutinho whilst it cannot be ruled out that Arturo Vidal and or Ivan Rakitic are sold to raise funds too.
Barcelona already have an agreement in place with Lautaro regarding personal terms and are prioritising signing him over Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar.
Junior Firpo could be key for the deal taking place but Barcelona know that negotiations will not be quick and will take some time therefore meaning he will not be signed before the end of the current season.
