Italian football journalist Fabrizio Biasin has taken to social media platform Twitter to highlight the distance that Inter attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen covered in last night’s 4-0 triumph over SPAL.

The Danish national team player returned to the starting line-up after starting on the bench in Inter’s two previous matches and whilst he left a lot to be desired with his general performance, he certainly could not be faulted for the effort he put in when it came to running about the pitch at the Stadio Paolo Mazza.

Eriksen joined Inter in the most recent January transfer window from Tottenham Hotspur but has certainly not lived up to expectations since his arrival on a four and a half year contract.

The former Ajax player has shown some glimpses of what he is capable of but for the most part he has disappointed and struggled to adapt. He has three goals and three assists in 17 appearances.

Biasin posted: “Since they can’t bust this balls about his technical ability with his feet, they bust his balls about how much he runs. Then you go and see Eriksen and he runs more than everyone and yes he can give much more than he has but woe to think this here is not a rare gem.”
