Italian football journalist has downplayed the idea that Inter currently find themselves in a period of crisis by pointing out how well the team have performed both in an attacking and defensive sense over the course of the campaign.

Prior to their two most recent results, wins over SPAL and Torino, Inter’s form was a little shaky and speculation mounted regarding Antonio Conte’s future with the club as Inter slid down to fourth and the gap widened between themselves and league leaders Juventus.

However following these past two wins, Inter have jumped into second place in the league table and have cut the gap between themselves and their arch rivals to six points with five games left to play of the season.

Biasin has pointed out that following last night’s 4-0 triumph over SPAL, Inter have the best defensive record in the league and the second best attack in the league.

He posted: “Best defence in Serie A (34 goals conceded). Second best attack (72 goals scored). Second place. The crisis is not as bad as some paint it.”
