Manchester City will go head to head with Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez, but a move to the Premier League does not seem to be that high up on his list of priorities according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

After their Champions League ban was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Manchester City have sparked an interest in several big name players as they look to build a squad capable of winning back the Premier League title from Liverpool and Lautaro is understood to be among their targets.

Unlike Barcelona, who have been linked with a move for the highly rated 22-year-old for a long time, Manchester City could satisfy Inter’s demands for the Argentine more easily.

It remains to be seen what the player really thinks. At the moment a Premier League move seemingly does not appeal to him all that much and he could prefer to wait on Barcelona coming in for him at a later date.

Moreover, the report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to add that Inter will have to be willing to sell him too given his release clause has now expired.
