Inter want to keep 18-year-old Italian defender Lorenzo Pirola, who wants to remain with the Nerazzurri for the long-term, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Italian teenager made his Serie A debut in the Milanese club’s 4-0 win over SPAL earlier this week, an important moment for the talented youngster. Coach Antonio Conte has been impressed with the player for some time now, noticing him last summer in the pre-season training camp.

Inter are looking to protect their talent and he is contracted to the club until 2025, the report continues. The player himself revealed that he wanted to remain with the club for the long-term, saying: “In five years’ time I want to be a leading player at Inter.”

He has made 20 appearances across all competitions for the Inter Primavera squad this season, providing one assist in that time. In the past both Manchester City and United were keen to sign him, but he wants to remain in Milan, the report highlights.
