Inter striker Romelu Lukaku will not start against Roma tonight, although he will be on the bench, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 27-year-old Belgian striker is recovering from a slight tear in his abductor muscle and so will start tonight’s game against the Giallorossi on the bench. Coach Antonio Conte will deploy Lautaro Martinez and Alexis Sanchez up front, changing the formation back to a 3-5-2.

Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen will also start the game tonight on the bench, the report continues, and so the midfield will be made up of Roberto Gagliardini, Borja Valero and Nicolo Barella, with Ashley Young set to start in the left wing back role.

Three points against Roma is crucial tonight if Inter are to provide real competition to Juventus for the league title, as the Bianconeri face a tough Lazio tomorrow evening.
