Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo will miss tonight’s game against Inter due to a calf strain, but the player wants to remain with the Giallorossi for next season, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The report details how the 21-year-old Italian midfielder will miss the league clash against the Nerazzurri this evening due to a slight calf strain.

Nicolo Zaniolo is also currently experiencing a difficult situation with coach Paulo Fonseca. The two made amends after their public argument after the end of the win over Hellas Verona earlier this week and the player thought the situation was over, but Fonseca decided to publicly defend his choices yesterday.

Zaniolo wants to stay with Roma, the report continues, amidst interest from both Juventus and Inter. The 21-year-old Italian is hoping to earn a starting spot in Italy’s Euro 2021 squad next summer and so wants to succeed with the Giallorossi next season. For now, he will have to work on repairing his relationship with Fonseca.
