Italian Journalist Matteo Marani: “Inter’s Antonio Conte Is The Best Coach But Unnecessary To Talk About Schedule Now”

Italian journalist Matteo Marani has shared his belief that now is not the time for Inter manager Antonio Conte to be complaining about Inter’s schedule.

Following last night’s 2-2 draw away to Roma at the Stadio Oimpico, Conte added to his increasing list out outbursts by blasting the schedule that his team have had since the season resumed after being put on hold for several months due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The former Italian national team boss highlighted the fact that Inter are always coming up against teams who have had more rest than them and they are always playing games away from home very late at night.

Whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today, Marani firstly reflected on last night’s match.

“I expected Inter to have the ferocity of a team intent on calling the season into question. This happened because Inter are no longer the anti-Juventus like they were in the first half of the season.

“At this moment, in the second half of the season, Inter are in sixth place, behind Sassuolo. Then you can throw out issues regarding the match schedule and lack of signings.”

He then went on to share his thoughts and feelings on Conte’s most recent outburst and highlighted the fact that there’s another team who have not complained.

“I think Antonio Conte is the number one coach and is the best at getting the most out of every situation but it is not necessary to talk about the schedule now. Atalanta play 6 games before everyone else, but from Bergamo I didn’t hear anything.”
