Barcelona have identified Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the primary fall back option to Inter’s Lautaro Martinez according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.
The Blaugrana club have been courting Lautaro for a considerable amount of time and have reportedly already agreed personal terms but they have struggled to agree terms with Inter, who are reluctant to reduce their demands for the Argentine.
Should Barcelona be unable to do a deal with Inter, they do not wish to be found unprepared which is why they have sparked an interest in Aubameyang, who is aware of the interest in his services from the Spanish powerhouses.
Aubameyang, who has also been linked to Inter, has been offered various contract extensions by Arsenal as his contract is set to expire at the end of next season but the Gabonese international is holding out to see if Barcelona come in for him.
