Lokomotiv Moscow will not take up their option to sign on loan Joao Mario on a permanent basis according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Russian Premier League side had the option to sign him for €18 million but having decided against doing so, the Portuguese player will return to Inter when his loan deal expires.

Inter manager Antonio Conte has no interest in incorporating Joao Mario into the team and the Nerazzurri club will look to offload him.

The player will have a value of €13 million against the club’s books come the end of the season and Inter will make a saving of €3 million a year too if they offload him due to his wages.

Joao Mario joined Inter in the Summer of 2016 from Sporting CP and is contracted to the club until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Whilst on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow, he has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided six assists.
