Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has insisted that Inter will not let their concentration levels drop and will still be targeting all three points despite already securing Champions League qualification for next season.
“There is high concentration, regardless of the fact Champions League qualification has been acquired. We always go onto pitch to pick up three points,” he explained in an interview with Inter’s official club broadcaster Inter TV, a short while before kick off at San Siro.
He then spoke on tonight’s opponents, who come into this match unbeaten in their last five outings, of which they have won three.
“Fiorentina come into this match following excellent performances and are mathematically safe, so they will be even more free mentally, which means we have to pay extra attention and raise our level of concentration.”
The Italian, who joined Inter back in January 2014 from Torino, then went on to discuss what it means to him to have recently hit the 200 appearance milestone for the club.
“It is an important recognition because I have achieved it in a glorious and winning shirt, we now hope to raise trophies.”
Soon after D’Ambrosio spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia and added: “It will be an Inter as usual. Regardless of everything we always aim for three points.
“In my opinion Fiorentina’s position in the standings does not reflect them as a team and the qualities that they have. They have several strong players.”
He proceeded to be asked about goal line clearances.
“Do I miss the last ditch goal line clearances? It means that we attack more.”
This season D’Ambrosio, who has a contract with Inter through to the end of next season, has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date.
D’Ambrosio has been deployed as a wing-back and centre back throughout the campaign and in just over 1500 minutes on the park, he has scored two goals.
